Planned Giving

The term “planned gift” refers to arranging a donation now so that St. Joseph the Worker will realize the benefit sometime in the future. Types of planned gifts can include bequests, gifts of life insurance policies, retirement plans, charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts, among others.

The benefit of making a planned gift is the flexibility that such giving methods can provide. Many people find these arrangements very attractive because a planned gift can help satisfy tax and financial goals, as well as charitable goals, and allow the donor to make a larger gift than otherwise may have been possible during the donor’s lifetime. Perhaps you would like to help support your parish but think you don’t have anything to give. Even people of modest means can generally arrange a future gift that can be received only after loved ones have been provided for.

Making a gift to your parish brings new meaning not only to death, but to life as well. Planning for your death requires spiritual maturity. To ponder the meaning of your life and the mysteries of your death is not easy, yet such reflection followed by action can afford the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your final wishes will be carried out according to your most cherished values.

As a faithful steward, you have supported your parish through your prayers, involvement, and financial resources. A gift from your estate can be a lasting profession of your love for your brothers and sisters in Christ. The future of your parish will be much brighter because of your commitment today.
