General Instruction of the Roman Missal

Usher and Greeter

“Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.”

–Hebrews 13:2

seating offertoryUshers are called to be ministers of hospitality, entrusted with fostering a sense of welcome and belonging among all who come to our liturgies. They seat worshipers, take up the collection, prepare the offertory gifts, guide the communion procession, and are sensitive to the needs of the worshiping community. By facilitating an atmosphere of welcome and reverence, they enable the celebrating community to come to an experience of God.

The usher ministry is open to women, men, singles, couples, families, youth, young adults, and seniors. Students in our confirmation program serve at the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.

Requirements

• A welcoming smile
• Punctuality, arriving early for Mass
• Ability to anticipate the needs of others
